How to Add More Joy to Your Day!
“Joy” is not oftentimes associated with “January.” After the New Year celebrations have ended and the holiday decorations have been removed, many people feel a little empty inside. And adulthood doesn’t do much to help - it’s tax season, you think you’re fat and your car is covered in ice! Let’s step back and try to make a conscious effort to add joy to our lives. Here are a few ideas that might help:
- Meditate, Pray or Reflect. Taking your mind OFF of autopilot can do wonders. You will feel more in control and aware of your surroundings giving you an attitude of appreciation and gratitude.
- Serve Others. It may be a cliche but it’s still remains true - it is better to give than to receive. You won’t believe the joy you will feel when you selflessly give to someone who doesn’t have the ability to repay you.
- Listen to Music. Doesn’t matter the genre, as long as it’s YOUR favorite. In the car, at the gym, in the living room, whenever and wherever you need a little pick me up, your favorite tunes will work every time.
It’s important to feel joyful on the regular basis. If you’re not having a good time, it’s simply not worth the effort. Our team at Egoiste is a very laid back group that loves to laugh.
